Learning to row
The Glenorchy Rowing Club runs occasional learn to row classes for adults from all over Hobart who want to see if rowing is for them.
Rowers get a great aerobic workout and enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a team while enjoying the Derwent River in a unique way. That's got to be better than being stuck inside a gym! You do not need to be fit to learn to row, but you must be able to undertake light intensity aerobic exercise and have a reasonable level of flexibility and strength. You must be able to swim 50 metres in rowing gear. Five sessions is normally enough for learners to be confident enough to row with a crew. If you complete the course and want to become a club member, the course cost includes membership for the rest of the season. Contact us to find out about our next course. |
